PERTH-BASED adventure cyclist Jack Thompson is set to take on a 14-day jaunt between 12 – 29 April 2019 through Thailand with the support of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Thai Airways (TG) Perth. Jack will pedal his way through 1,380km of relaxing countryside and busting urban areas, a journey which will take him through Bangkok, around the gulf of Thailand, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat and then across the peninsula to Krabi and Phuket.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand said the event will be a “Thai-riffic” opportunity for a cultural immersion experience and encourage tourists who love the perfect balance of sports, activities and traveling experiences.
Jack pursues his passion for ultra-distance cycling and exploring the world on two wheels. Fast forward three years and he is now considered by media outlets around the world as ‘The Most Extreme Cyclist on Earth.’
Having suffered from mental illness as a teen, in particular, an ‘Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder,’ Jack is able to harness what most would deem a disability and focus what was once negative energy, in a positive light.
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Jack undertakes extreme adventures, in remote destinations worldwide and is engaged by tourism boards to promote cycling in different countries.
